I for Eye

I sold my eye
for twenty pence
and thirty
dreamless nights

He paid
fifteen pence
and left,
kisses goodbye

My eye, two eyes
for ten pence each
if not now
will you pay?

He came, now
fifteen dreamless nights
to pay, I thought
five pence's peace

Two eyes, he said
half an eye each
take them back but
please,
place me in my dreams.

beautiful poem, striking imagination, and for the readers of your blog, like me, it's just a prologue to the even more beautiful verses in store. so go on.
