Spring 2006

It is spring
The birds are back
Flowers—purple and yellow
By the stream
And the sun is bright

I know you're tired, still

Get up!
Go to the garden of yellow flowers
Forget the artificial cock's crowing
The chapel bells
The crowded streets
Beating in your heart
The dating kids
Their fashion, their hair, and flesh
Forget the noise for noise's sake:
The addendum, the acquirendum,
And the damnendum

Take a book if you want
Pack a sandwich
And rest, on the grass
As long as you want

Hey nice one Jobin..like the lines "chapel bell...in your heart"

Not so sure about the addendum parts though..but quite like the simplicity of the lines about flowers..creates a nice visual and for some reason made me think of SVU..lol

Nice to see your comment, Kristy. I think the 'addendum' and all that is a reference to the pompous latinate vocabulary academics use..

are you the kristy in delhi - jenny and hany's friend?

what a beautifully written poem!Seasons really reflect our feelings and emotions. And spring is the season of flowers which invite us to a quiet and trnquil world. However,I am exhausted even while the shining spring penetrates my mind.I hope this sort of touching poems can make me stronger.

thank you amigo! these seasons have a marked effect on the moods; especially in the western hemisphere, where the change is extremely perceptible to the visual and tactile senses.. i am glad the poem made you feel good.. take care, and talk to you soon!
